Presentation by Bolivia's Minister of Mining and Metallurgy
The “Mining Opportunities in Bolivia” event brought together over 50 mining industry leaders in Vancouver on March 8th. The audience heard speeches from the Ambassador of Bolivia, Pablo Guzman and mining entrepreneur and chairman of Pan American Silver, Ross Beaty.
New Pacific Metals was proud to be one of the sponsors of the event, and our President Gordon Neal offered his remarks on the opportunity that our company sees in Bolivia.
New Pacific's flagship property is the Silver Sand project in the Potosí Department of Bolivia.
Our largest shareholders include Pan American Silver, which operates six mines including the San Vicente mine, also located in the Potosí Department of Bolivia.
The presentation by Bolivia’s Minister of Mining, Cesar Navarro Miranda, was well received by attendees and highlighted positive developments for Bolivia's mining industry.
In his presentation, Minister Navarro pointed to Bolivia’s steady economic growth, most notably in the last four years, with GDP growth at over 4%, the highest in the region.
He emphasized the importance of private companies, public sector and local communities working together in order to develop real opportunities in Bolivia.
